You don’t become a missionary by raising money and flying to a foreign country. You do it by being obedient to God. Tell people about Jesus where you live. Get out of your comfort zone. Sell something precious and apply it to your debts. Make a sacrifice. Develop better friendships. There is an old saying: “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.” While this is not to be taken literally in this sense, (please, don’t start wearing the national garb of the country you want to go to just yet). However, somewhere in the process, we have to make a conscious decision that there is no going back.

Austrian Youth Minister to Roma in Slovakia

A team of Austrian youth came to minister to the Roma (Gypsies) of Slovakia. AGWM personnel, John Bean, whose ministry focuses on the Roma tells of the great blessing these young people were. They helped strip paint off of a container building which was purchased to house small group meetings as well as a place for children’s ministry in this Roma project. The youth also did children’s programs in four different villages in the area throughout the week. John Bean’s family were much involved in these programs, with his daughter being the translator for the leaders and the youth. It was a busy and fruitful week for these young Austrians. It was the first time that some of these Roma women were out of the country of Slovakia. They were so excited to get to see the city of Vienna and to worship and sit in sessions with people from 15 different nations. We all returned to Slovakia with a renewed passion to reach the children of this nation.
