There are many creative ways of sharing the love of Christ and building trust with contacts. One of these ways was shared by Blake and Katy Edgmon, AGWM personnel who are involved in student ministries in Dublin, Ireland. They relate the following story of a unique time of sharing. ·
· “This past week we had the great privilege of helping the college students of St. Mark’s Church as they passed out free lunches to Trinity College students during exam week. This was the first time any of us had done an outreach to the university through the church...we weren’t sure how the students would respond. We were met with so many of them, however, who were overjoyed to receive a little kindness during a very trying week.
“One girl told our friend Abigail that she had forgotten her bank card at home and was stressed out about buying lunch. She was so happy to have that off her shoulders! Some people simply said ‘thank you’ and took a lunch without another word. Most, however, stopped and asked who we were and why in the world we were doing this. When we explained that we were from the church across the street and just wanted to give lunch away to students, people acted happily surprised and said, ‘Wow! That’s so great!’
“All in all, it was a positive experience and everything went smoothly. We were so encouraged to see the students of St. Mark’s showing love to people ‘just because.’ It was apparent that the students of Trinity College were also very refreshed to see Christians giving generously without a hidden agenda. It’s all about trust - these students built it that day.”
