Melilla Spring in Spain

The wind of the Spirit of God keeps blowing in the dry, hot city of Melilla, Spain, one of two Spanish cities located on the coast of North Africa across the Mediterranean from mainland Spain. The Lord continues to work in lives in the ministry of Cesar Gil and his church associated with the Assemblies of God of Spain. Gil reports of six baptisms this spring, four of whom were former muslims. Included among those baptized were three generations of a family…a grandmother, mother, and granddaughter. Every week, there is an average of 50 new attendees to the church who have never before heard of God’s love expressed through his sending of his son Jesus.

For the first time ever there was a gathering of all the churches in the city for a communion service in Gil’s church. Recently there was a big celebration party to honor mothers. One hundred sixty women attended this event which shared God’s love for them.

The City of Melilla gave the church an award for the feeding program which Gil provides every week. Often he hosts different teams from various countries who come to feed and clothe the poorest. The love of God is being demonstrated, bringing many to himself.
