Testimonies were shared each evening of lives transformed by God. Alfredo, a medical doctor related that “I had everything...a good home, loving parents, my religion, friends, studies, sports, a girlfriend...I was the center of my life. One day a young person handed me a ‘tract’ and invited me to his church—an evangelical church. I began to read the Bible to see if it was real. It wasn’t long until Jesus Christ became the center of my life.” Mikel, a welder, grew up in the rock culture of the ‘70s. He was searching and had a lot of questions. He got involved with Yoga, spent time in prison and it was there he was given a Bible. He found the answer in Jesus Christ. Fito, a police officer, was at one time on drugs, when a friend gave him a tract and said, “Dios te ama” (“God loves you!”). The change in his friend had an impact on Fito. Not long after, in an Evangelical church, he committed his life to God.
Visitors came to this evangelism event, their first time in an evangelical service. One of the priests from the catholic school sat in the back row every evening. “I leave tonight full of joy. I have received so much help. These three evenings have been a blessing to me.” May God continue to speak to each one who heard the good news, many for the first time ever.
The following week a group from New Life Assembly of God in Florida came to help in evangelism and to encourage the believers. It was their fourth mission’s trip. What a blessed encouragement! During the tract distribution along the streets of different cities and towns, it was thrilling to hear “Gracias” and then to see people walking down the street or stopping to sit on a park bench to read the message. The Word of God will speak to open hearts as they read the message of hope.
