Convoy of Hope/Europe held a festival in Novo Selo, Bulgaria. AGWM Personnel, Kevin and Karen Prevost participated by training local volunteers in evangelism. The goal of the festival was to plant a new church in that town. Abandoned factories from the communist era, run-down houses, widespread unemployment and a sense of hopelessness all characterized the area. The festival was designed to bring hope in the form of free medical services, haircuts, food and children's games, but especially hope in the transforming message of Jesus Christ.

The festival was designed to bring hope in the form of free medical services, haircuts, food and children's games, but especially hope in the transforming message of Jesus Christ.
Several churches in the area joined forces to serve the people and share the gospel. The Prevosts and the team presented music and evangelistic messages. The next day in church a number of believers testified how encouraged they were to participate in the festival, serving others and sharing Jesus.
Katya was watching the festival from across the street when Kevin walked over with his translator, Pavel, to talk to her. As they explained God's perfect standards for getting into heaven, she became worried about where she would spend eternity, and chose to ask forgiveness, turn from her sin, and turn her life over to Jesus. She said, "I used to see Jesus as small, but after I prayed, He became so much bigger! I love your Jesus and the privilege of living in heaven."
Katya was introduced to the Christian man living in Novo Selo who will help begin a new church there. She plans to attend the Alpha course they will begin offering. May many others in this town come to Jesus and become part of a strong church there.
