City-wide Prayer Meetings in France

Believers in Troyes, France are uniting to pray for their city and country! These meetings, called “Brûle en moi” (Burn in me), began in September. The “Brûle en moi” prayer meetings began with a dual-purpose. First, it was for the goal of uniting the churches and believers together in prayer. Since it is a para-church ministry and not a church, our ministry center is an ideal location for believers to come together without fear of people stealing members from other churches. There have been pastors and believers from five or six different denominations coming together.

The second purpose is to return to our roots of Pentecost with a short teaching during each meeting on the Holy Spirit. The first meeting had 40 people from five different churches/denominations. Four people were baptized in the Holy Spirit, two people were healed, and many were energized to pray. These meetings will continue every month.

People have commented that they have a greater desire to seek the face of God and have a greater dynamic during their personal devotions throughout the month. We are believing for more churches to get involved, and for a spiritual awakening and revival to begin here in Troyes.

Bus Outreach in France

AGWM personnel in France, Edward Buck, relates some great encounters which occurred in their recent outreaches to various towns in France where there are new church planting efforts. The brightly painted bus brings attention in these towns, conversations are initiated with passers-by, and these contacts are brought on the bus for more intense protracted conversations with interested individuals in need of God and prayer. Brief summaries of these divine encounters show God at work in France.

An Imam (a Muslim religious leader) comes on the bus for discussion about God, and as a result, many other Muslims also hear the Gospel and receive the “Jesus” film in French and Arabic.

In the town of Mornant there were over 300 discussions and prayer with many people who have no hope. The home group continues to grow, and the believers are looking for a larger meeting place for the new church plant.

In Wasselonne a woman had prayed, asking God "If you exist, send someone to me!" Thirty minutes later a team knocks on her door, and she commits her life to Christ in her living room.

In Loudéac a witch doctor is convicted of his sin, and weeping kneels in the middle of a parking lot to repent and give his life to the true God. During an outreach concert, a man’s shoulders are healed. He begins dancing around the room, praising God.

Lives Touched by the Gospel in Belgium

Our AGWM Personnel in Belgium are excited to report that recently dozens of people have given their hearts to the Lord. Two events held lately were the International Church of Brussels Friendship Festival in August and a joint-church sponsored evangelistic outreach with Nicky Cruz in September. During the Friendship Festival, the church provided food, music, games, and enjoyable activities for our friends, neighbors, and contacts in an effort to share the gospel. Over 700 people came to enjoy this afternoon of beautiful weather. New people have already expressed hunger for the Lord and started visiting the church on Sundays. On Wednesday, September 14, Nicky Cruz shared his testimony in Charleroi, Belgium where the venue was packed with over 400 people, many coming from the streets through the ministry of Teen Challenge. The following day, Nicky spoke to over 600 people in the heart of Brussels, with the same passion and urgency, highlighting the hope that can be found only in Jesus. In both evenings some 100 people responded to the call for salvation, healing and deliverance. Both nights were saturated with a mighty move of the Holy Spirit, prompting greater unity among churches participating in this evangelistic effort. Venues proved to be too small and many had to follow the meetings via t live streaming.

Short Time Success in Belgium

How do you start a Kid’s Ministry in a place where religion and ‘church’ are not welcome? That was the question on the mind of AGWM personnel, Kay Farmer. The answer for her? Step outside of the box and find out what are the needs in your community. And now, after the start of this ministry, Kay is hearing the moms saying, “We don’t have anything like this here. We needed something like this!” Story Time is held on Wednesday afternoons. The kids come, play a bit, sings songs, and Kay reads a ‘moral-themed’ story! Then they play games and have activities that go along with the theme. The first book that Kay read to the kids was The Boy and The Ocean by Max Lucado. She says, “We were able to talk about God’s love because of this book. All of the moms left asking if they could take some flyers and tell their friends.” Well…of course!!!

Kay goes on to relate, “I wasn’t sure how to start. How to reach parents when I didn’t have a child myself. I follow a local blogger here who posts events. One day the idea came to me to send her a message about Story Time. She said she would love to blog about it and did so for three weeks! I had two parents sign up. One mom was part of our city’s Parent and Child Group. She asked if she could share this event with the group. Of course! She brought five moms with her. The best part was all of the hugs I got when the kids left. I already felt like these were “My Kids!”
