Jesus' Power at Work in Germany

AGWM Personnel in Germany, Michael Tyler, tells of a wonderful healing as result of prayer. Michael relates:“Last month our church ran a Kids’ Retreat Program for a church in Cham, Germany. It was our third year in a row at that location. Going back this year I ran into a familiar face. Michael is a local farmer who asked for prayer last year because he was almost blind.

“Last month our church ran a Kids’ Retreat Program for a church in Cham, Germany.  It was our third year in a row at that location.  Going back this year I ran into a familiar face.  Michael is a local farmer who asked for prayer last year because he was almost blind.  Along with three teens from our church, I  prayed for him.  He instantly noticed a difference in his ability to see.  Blinking in shock, he said, ‘It’s a bit better.’  An hour later he was saying, ‘It’s much better!’  We left that day knowing God was at work.

“Many people still doubt the message of the Gospel and the power of Jesus, but Michael’s story, among many others, is just one more proof that Jesus is alive and well, and that the Holy Spirit is touching lives on a regular basis all over the world.  ‘And [Jesus] answered them, “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good news preached to them. And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.” (Luke 7: 22)

“Blessed is the one who is not offended by Jesus.  Because if you’re not too busy being offended by him, you’ll certainly be busy being astounded by him! “

Transformation in Germany

Church planters, Steve and China Walent, serving in Germany, tell of the transformed life of Gabriella. She was one of 4 people baptized recently. Gabriella accepted the Lord as her savior in 2009 and has been part of the ‘Discovery Group’ since then. She comes from a broken home where she was beaten often as a child. That led to her putting on a hard facade to protect herself from more hurt. As it often goes though, she ended up in an abusive relationship and has suffered much during the last 15 years. The Walents got to know Gabriella through Kids Club and built a relationship with her…having her family over for Christmas Dinner a few times, their own daughters helping her daughter with tutoring, Christina quilting together with her and mentoring her, standing with her through a "burn out" and the separation from her abusive partner. The Walents state, “Through all the ups and downs, we have tried our best just to live out God's love to her and it has paid off. Gabriella has changed so much by allowing God's love to penetrate layer after layer of her heart, and today people ask her what has happened to her as she is so different. She shares freely what Jesus has done in her life.”

Gabriella has had it on her heart to start ministering to other parents that come to Kids Club, to simply be present "and bring Jesus with her", to build relationships...just as the Walents did with her. The baton has been passed on.

Church Planting Highlights from Germany

AGWM Personnel in Germany, Mike Tyler tells of many ways the Lord is workingin lives and bringing them into fellowship with himself and believers in church plants. Lukas (18) invited his buddy Florian (19) to come to church. His response was, "I'd rather die than go to church." But the conversation was started, and a few weeks later Florian did come to church. He loved the community, and the fellowship, and came back a second time. On the second visit, Florian invited Jesus to be the Lord of his life!

On Mother's Day. Tyler was invited to preach an evangelistic service for a church which meets in a 700 year old castle just south of Dresden. Antonia (17) and Andreas (26) both attended church for the first time in their lives that morning. They both heard a message about the Prodigal Son - and both came running back to our heavenly father!

Tessa (mid 30s) works for a Taxi company. She heard that Wolfgang, one of their drivers, was a follower of Jesus. Wolfgang mentioned our church plant in Marktredwitz to her,and she invited herself to a service. After her second visit, she invited Jesus to be Lord of her life!

Andrea (mid 60s) spent her entire life going to church every week. She understood religion, but she'd never truly understood what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus. But she does now! She and two other women gave their lives to Christ on the same night in our Marktredwitz church plant.

Internationals Reaching Germans

German pastor Gerhard had been asking God to send him new partners in ministry. AGWM Personnel, Mike Tyler, is a part of the answer to that prayer. Mike states that he felt called to come to the region about the time Gerhard was seeking God for such help. Not long after the Tylers committed to coming, a family from Argentina sensed the same call. They’ll be arriving next month to begin working with the Go Church. Mike relates that, “Our church here has had a pattern of praying for their soon-to-be-arriving missionaries 3 times per day; first for us, then for the Bardols (Argentina). Recently the thought stuck us, ‘Soon the Bardols will be here. Who do we pray for next?’ So I started praying for missionaries to come from Africa and Asia. Last month I met an Australian pastor who moved to Germany 18 months ago. He is learning the language and looking to connect with other church planters in the region.

“Last week we had a visit from a Cameroonian pastor who is planting a church in Bremen, and looking to possibly partner with us along the way. Next weekend an Indonesian church planter (in Saxony) is coming to lead worship at our church, and to discuss how we can partner together. So…that means pastors from Europe, North America, South America, Australia, Africa, and Asia are all working together to reach Germany. I don’t know all that God has planned for Germany - but it sure seems like something big!”

Internationals are coming to Germany to reach Germans. All are being led by the Holy Spirit to come…no one has been recruiting people for this work. The Holy Spirit does that the better than anyone can!
