Church Launch in Cardiff

Sunday, February 17 was a banner night for Capital City Church as they celebrated one year of ministry by being "commissioned" to the work of Jesus in Wales and beyond. Pastors from area churches came to take part in the evening, with Ian Williams (pastor, Peniel Pentecostal Church in Glynneath) and Rob Morse (pastor, 1905 Cathays church) reading scripture and bringing encouragement. Pastor Chris James (Vintage Community Churches, Bristol) brought a brief word about church planting. Alan Hewitt, pastor of Hope Church in Newtown and the newly appointed area leader for Wales, preached a poignant message about the mission of the Church and the unity of the Body so desperately needed for that mission to continue and succeed. One of the highlights of the night was former leader of the Wales and West region, Ian Williams (pastor, Riviera Life Church in Torquay) leading the congregation in prayer for all the church leaders in attendance. Powerful worship was led by Abi Williams and the Cap City team.

Mail_Attachment.jpegThe theme of the night was unity in mission.  This was very encouraging to the Pastors, AGWM Personnel, Bryan and Misty Elliott.  Bryan states, “It has been our heart and prayer since the beginning.  We have planted a church, but not without the prayer and encouragement of many churches and leaders in the area.  The time of suspicion and competition amongst churches is coming to an end, and we look forward to the soon-and-coming day when all of the Church will stand together to bring in the harvest!”

This new church in Wales is filled with new believers, not-yet believers, young families who are reconnecting with church, and more.
