Transformation in Germany

Church planters, Steve and China Walent, serving in Germany, tell of the transformed life of Gabriella. She was one of 4 people baptized recently. Gabriella accepted the Lord as her savior in 2009 and has been part of the ‘Discovery Group’ since then. She comes from a broken home where she was beaten often as a child. That led to her putting on a hard facade to protect herself from more hurt. As it often goes though, she ended up in an abusive relationship and has suffered much during the last 15 years. The Walents got to know Gabriella through Kids Club and built a relationship with her…having her family over for Christmas Dinner a few times, their own daughters helping her daughter with tutoring, Christina quilting together with her and mentoring her, standing with her through a "burn out" and the separation from her abusive partner. The Walents state, “Through all the ups and downs, we have tried our best just to live out God's love to her and it has paid off. Gabriella has changed so much by allowing God's love to penetrate layer after layer of her heart, and today people ask her what has happened to her as she is so different. She shares freely what Jesus has done in her life.”

Gabriella has had it on her heart to start ministering to other parents that come to Kids Club, to simply be present "and bring Jesus with her", to build relationships...just as the Walents did with her. The baton has been passed on.
