Summer in Iceland
Andy and Kimberly Bohon, AGWM personnel in Iceland, tell of the various ministry endeavors which took place there with the purpose of reaching people for Christ. “The summer started off with us being able to help with a tent outreach in Selfoss. During those meetings we were able to distribute 2000 ‘Jesus Films for Kids’ door to door. We invited people to the meetings and shared the story of Jesus through film with an entire village. Kimberly also was asked to preach during this outreach, which was such a blessing to her and the people.

During June, July and August we had the privilege of helping to host and work with 3 short-term missions teams from the USA. These teams were a huge blessing to the nation of Iceland. They spoke at churches, painted, built walls, cleaned, sanded, did lawn work, put in new pipes for the campground, built sets for the Kids Camp, hauled off trash, built bridges, built railing for stairs, had outreaches in the villages for kids, baked 600 cupcakes and the list goes on and on.
We spent nearly 8 weeks with these teams right outside the small village called Hvolsvöllur. This village has a tiny grocery store and one gas station, but the scenery is breathtaking. This area of the country is where the Pentecostal National Campground is located. The teams worked on this campground doing improvements and preparing for the Family Camp that was held at the first part of August. Over 2,000 people came to the meeting. Lives were changed and many people came to know Christ. We have already started planning teams for next summer and we are excited to see what God will do. People say ‘There is never a dull moment when you are doing God’s work’ and we have found that statement to be very true this summer.”
