Rouse House Makes a New Commitment in Germany
"People always ask us ‘how long have you been saved?’ The embarrassingthing is we never really had an answer. Why? Because we both couldn’t ever think of a time in our lives when we didn’t believe in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We prayed daily but nothing was different about us to anyone or even to one another. We were simply ‘Sunday Christians’ for many years, never truly submitted to God to be rid of ourselves in order to belong to Him completely. We were the ‘Christians’ who did not hunger for the Truth and therefore never really read our Bible, if at all. How could we say we were Christians for years on end and never really know what God’s Word says?…it has ALL the answers…what idiots we were!

There were some years when we thought things were great, but we look back now and know we weren’t ever committed or different from the crowd we hung around with regularly. In fact we haven't had any ‘church friends’ for at least the last 13 years. Our lifestyle in front of our children was ‘do as I say, not as I do’ and even took them to church regularly, to only bring confusion on what it means to truly live for Jesus.
However, today is a new day. Today we were both baptized of our own accord, not because some religion said we had to and not because another said it is the next step in our walk with God, but because we both have both decided (individually and together) to die to ourselves and be fully alive in Christ. The old has passed, all things are new, we are a new creation and THIS day the Rouse House confesses and chooses we will serve the Lord….raising/training our children and generations to come in the way they should go as well. We are both still in awe of how God has changed us both from the inside out in the last two years…it has been rough adjustment some days because God deals with us daily reminding us where we no longer want to be and yet, at the same time, it has been the best two years of our lives.”
