Finding Christ by Accident in Italy
The International Church of Rome, pastored by AGWM Personnel, Bob and Lynne Rose, recently celebrated its third anniversary of itsfounding with a special service. The Roses related that after the service, when they had almost finished cleaning the church facility, a young Italian couple, Francesco and Mimosa walked by to get a cup of coffee at the café next door. When they saw the church, something drew them into the foyer and they looked through the glass doors with great interest at the sanctuary.
The Roses invited them in and the couple wanted to know what was done in this place and who these people were. Francesco’s phone rang and he stepped outside to take the call but Mimosa stayed and listened as one of the workers began to earnestly share Jesus with her. In a few minutes, tears were flowing down her face as the Holy Spirit spoke to her heart and before long, she prayed a sweet prayer of repentance and salvation. She had been searching for truth and peace and the Holy spirit led her into a haven of rest and refuge where she could find the answers she was seeking.
When Francesco returned, he began to talk of ‘many gods’ in religion, the world and even music. But as they continued to converse with him, they discovered he was repeating words he had heard but did not really believe. When the question was posed to him, “What will you do with Jesus?” he humbly confessed that he was a sinner and needed a Savior and then asked Jesus into his heart. Lynne concluded this divinely-appointed time with a prayer for both of them to hunger for more of God and to grow in His grace and knowledge. What a way to conclude this anniversary day!
